Keynan Parker



 

THOMAS MORE: Keynan (pronounced Keenan) rushed for 2,279 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior...2007 British Columbia Offensive Player of the Year and the junior athlete of the year in track...standout in track where he won gold medals in August’s B.C/Yukon Canadian Legion Nationals in the 100 and 200 meters (21.44  -- Canadian Youth record)...placed fifth at the 2007 World Youth Track and Field Championships in the 100 with a 10.61...won several gold medals in the last two B.C. High School Championships, including in 2008 in the 100 (10.67), 200, and 4x100 relay....world class speed and potentially a Canadian Olympian.

 

PERSONAL: Born in Vancouver, B.C...son of James “Quick” Parker and Lisa Sanghera...James played football at Wake Forest before becoming an All-Canadian Football League selection five times for the B.C. Lions (1985 Grey Cup Defensive MVP while with the B.C. Lions)...possibly will train with OSU women’s track coach Kelly Sullivan to continue his career as a sprinter...was recruited by several Ivy League schools...first Canadian on the football roster since tight end David Dmytrow (Ridgeville, Ontario) in 1989, who was at OSU on a track scholarship in 1988...chose OSU because of the “atmosphere, small town environment and the coaching staff.”
