CORVALLIS, Ore. -
Beaver Nation, here’s your chance to choose the quarter break song. As you know, the fourth quarter of a football game is where the most crucial plays are made. In order to prepare Oregon State football fans for this critical juncture, it has become tradition during the quarter break prior to the start of the fourth quarter to play “TNT” by AC/DC.
As we enter the 2010 football season, the OSU Athletic Department wants to find out whether this is the song you want to hear. If you have an idea for another song, join Oregon State Athletics Facebook page, by clicking here, and enter the “Fourth Quarter Song Contest.” One fan who submits the winning song will win four tickets to the football game against Louisville on September 18 and four “I am Orange” Official Game Day T-Shirts. If more than one fan submit the winning song a random drawing will be held to choose a winner. If AC/DC’s “TNT” is the song that you, our fans, choose, all of the contestants that submitted a song into the contest will be placed in a random drawing for the tickets and t-shirts.
Starting on Monday, at 10 a.m. through Monday, August 16 at 5 p.m., fans can begin submitting their song choice on the “Oregon State Beavers” fan page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/OregonStateBeavers. Fans can submit as many songs as they like. If a song contains any profanity or inappropriate lyrics, it will be edited or possibly disqualified.
Six songs, including AC/DC’s “TNT,” will then be put up for fan voting on osubeavers.com between August 23 and September 3. Once again, fans can vote as many times as they wish. The song that receives the most votes will be revealed as the Beavers prepare for the fourth quarter during the first home game on September 18.
Entrants must 18 years of age or older. The winner of four tickets to the football game against Louisville and four “I am Orange” Official Game Day T-Shirts will be notified via phone or email Friday, Sept. 10. If there are any questions, please call 541-737-9895 or email email@example.com.
