Football Hosts Portland State in 2014

July 7, 2011

Corvallis, Ore. -

Oregon State and Portland State have agreed to open the 2014 football season at Reser Stadium.  The game is tentatively slated for Aug. 30 and concludes the scheduling for non-conference games for 2014 as the Beavers travel to Hawai’i Sept. 6, followed by a bye and a Sept. 20 home date with San Diego State.  OSU officials are not planning a 13th regular season game, which is allowed per NCAA rules for a team that travels to Honolulu.  The Pac-12 Conference schedule will be announced in the future for upcoming years.

The two programs last played in the 2009 opener in Corvallis, with the Beavers posting a 34-7 victory.  OSU has won all three previous meetings, including 51-14 in 1983 in Portland and 41-14 in 2005 in Corvallis.

Oregon State opens fall camp for the 2011 season Aug. 8.  The season opener is Sat., Sept. 3 against Sacramento State at Reser Stadium.
