The life of Carolina quarterback Matt Moore just got interesting and a lot greener.
According to Moore's agent Lynn Lashbrook, the Panthers today made a Level 5 tender offer to the former Oregon State quarterback worth $3,043,000 for one year, which will make it difficult for another team to sign the restricted free agent.
Moore, who just completed is fourth season with a flurry of high-level play, would have become an unrestricted free agent after Mar. 4 (Thursday) had Carolina not made him a tender offer.
"Matt is ecstatic about it," said Lashbrook, whose agency Sports Management Worldwide is based out of Portland. "This is a big deal, especially for an undrafted free agent. He's earned this Level 5 offer. It's a great compliment to him."
