Oregon State Completes 2002 Football Schedule
Feb. 6, 2002
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State has completed its 2002 football schedule and will open the season at Corvallis against Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, August 29, according to Director of Athletics Mitch Barnhart. The addition of the Colonels, a Division I-AA powerhouse, gives the Beavers seven home games in 2002. OSU will also host UNLV, Fresno State, UCLA, California, Arizona and Oregon at Reser Stadium. Eastern Kentucky and the Beavers will be meeting for the first time in history. The Colonels are coached by legendary Roy Kidd. Kidd completed his 38th season at Eastern Kentucky in 2001 with a record of 8-2, including seven straight victories to close out the season. Kidd became just the eighth coach in NCAA football history to eclipse the 300-win plateau in 2001. His collegiate coaching record now stands at 307-119-8, all accomplished at EKU, his alma mater. Despite winning seven straight games to close out the 2001 season, Eastern Kentucky was denied a spot in the 16-team NCAA I-AA playoffs. Eastern Kentucky is located in Richmond, KY. The Colonels are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Beavers' complete 2002-football schedule follows: 2002 Oregon State Football Schedule
