A crowd of over 350, mostly Oregon State student-athletes, attended the “Celebration of Life” for the late Fred Thompson of the Beavers’ football team Thursday afternoon at the LaSells Stewart Center on campus.  Thompson passed away Dec. 7, 2011 just four days shy of his 20^th birthday.

OSU football team chaplains Tom Ramsay and H.D. Weddel offered messages of encouragement, head coach Mike Riley provided words of remembrance and teammate Ryan Murphy, Thompson’s best friend since middle school, read a poem.  The event also featured a video of Thompson from his high school and college days.
