Mike Ortiz enters his fifth season as the director of the football video operations unit. His responsibilities include managing all video services for the football team, including highlight and team videos. He also coordinates video exchanges with opposing teams and is the producer for the department's recruit video for an annual fundraising event in Portland, among other duties. Ortiz came to OSU from XOS Technologies where he served as national field representative for just under two years. At XOS he was responsible for software installs and servicing of all levels of NCAA programs, NHL, NBA and NFL teams. Prior to his employment at XOS, Ortiz was at the University of Washington for six years as assistant video operations director. He also held a similar role at the University of Colorado for two years. While at Washington he worked mainly with the football program along with the other Olympic sports. Ortiz was voted PAC 10 Video Coordinator by his peers for the 2009-2010 season and was a finalist for the National Video Coordinator of the year. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in journalism (broadcast news), and worked two years as a student in the school's athletic video operations department. Ortiz is married to the former Dora Deese and they have a daughter, Sophie. |
