NBA Draft Combine Featuring @J1Flight To Be Televised, Streamed Online
June 6, 2012
CHICAGO, Ill. - The NBA Draft Combine, featuring 62 of the nation's top players including former Oregon State guard Jared Cunningham, will be televised on ESPNU and streamed online via ESPN3 Thursday and Friday beginning at 7 a.m. PT each day.
All 30 NBA teams will have general managers, scouts and other team executives at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Flames Athletic Center to watch the top prospects in this year's draft class participate in the following skills challenges: standings vertical leap, maximum vertical leap, lane agility drill, modified lane agility drill and 3/4 court sprint.
Craig Robinson will also attend the combine to show support for one of the players who was in his first signing class as the head coach at Oregon State.
"I'm ready to go," Cunningham said. "I'm glad it's on television so Beaver fans can watch me and see all of the hard work I've been doing. I think it's cool that Coach Robinson is coming to support me. I'm glad he can come down. That means a lot to me."
Cunningham, who declared for the draft after his junior season, is expected to be the 42nd Oregon State player drafted in NBA history and the first since 1998 when Corey Benjamin was selected in the first round (28th overall) by the Chicago Bulls. The NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 28 and will be televised live on ESPN.
ESPNU and ESPN3 will provide eight hours of coverage from the combine. Ryen Russillo will host the two-day event with analysis from the network's college and NBA experts. Analysts Fran Frascilla and Jay Williams will contribute their in-depth knowledge of each draftees college skill set, while Andy Katz reports from the court. In addition, NBA analysts Chad Ford and Tom Penn will provide expert knowledge and understanding of the needs of each NBA team.
