CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball team and head coach Pat Casey announced the club’s 2013 schedule on Wednesday. The schedule includes 26 home games and 31 overall in the state of Oregon.
The 55-game schedule will see the Beavers play 17 games against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago.
“I’m very excited for this schedule and the 2013 season,” Casey said. “We believe the non-conference portion of the schedule sets up our club to be prepared for Pac-12 play. The league will be tough this season, as it is every year. It’s only November, but I’m really looking forward to getting underway in February.”
The Beavers will open the 2013 season on Friday, Feb. 15 when beginning play at the Palm Springs Tournament in California. Oregon State will host the four-team event at Palm Springs Stadium, with Gonzaga, Utah Valley and UC Riverside also attending.
From there, Oregon State travels to San Diego State for a four-game series with the Aztecs at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The series will be familiar for the Beavers, who played in the San Diego/San Diego State Tournament last season, and went 1-1 at the Aztecs’ home field.
OSU makes its home debut March 1 in a three-game series against Bryant College, which starts what will be a nine-game homestand for the Beavers at Goss Stadium. Also scheduled to play at Goss over the nine-game stretch include Portland (March 5), Texas State (March 8-10) and San Francisco (March 12-13).
Pac-12 Conference play opens March 15 when the Beavers visit Arizona. Oregon State’s first Pac-12 home series starts March 22 against Arizona State.
Oregon State’s bye week during Pac-12 play occurs March 28-30 and will find the Beavers again traveling to San Diego, this time for a three-game series against USD at the Toreros’ new home stadium, Fowler Park.
Oregon State’s other home Pac-12 series come against Utah (April 12-14), USC (April 26-28), California (May 3-5) and Washington State (May 24-26). The team’s road league series are at UCLA (April 5-7), Washington (April 19-21), Stanford (May 10-12) and Oregon (May 17-19).
Other non-conference games for the Beavers include two home games against Oregon (April 9 and May 21), at Seattle (April 22) and two road games at Portland (April 2 and May 8).
Season and single-game tickets for the 2013 season will be made available as the season nears so make sure and check osubeavers.com for that information when it becomes available.
