CORVALLIS, Ore. - Pitching ruled the afternoon Tuesday at Goss Stadium as the orange squad evened Oregon State baseball's Orange and Black series with a 6-0 defeat of the black squad.

Nick Stiltner and James Nygren combined to shut out the black squad, while Sam Gaviglio threw four innings of shutout baseball in a start for the black team. He struck out seven.

Harmen Sidhu picked up the loss in relief for the black team.

Junior Luke Acosta was the lone Beaver to finish with two hits Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with a double for the black squad.

The series is now even at a game apiece after the black team won, 5-2, in the series opener Monday. Three games remain.

Remaining games are scheduled to be held at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The team will take Friday off before concluding the series at Medford's Harry & David Field.

Saturday's game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. PT start.

Admission to Saturday's game is $5 for adults and free for children 13 and younger. Proceeds benefit the Medford Youth Baseball Society. Tickets for the intrasquad scrimmage are available at the gate.

The two remaining home intrasquad games, to be held at Goss Stadium, are free to the public.
