Black Team Wins Game One Of Baseball Orange And Black Series

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The black squad won the first game of the Oregon State baseball team's "Orange and Black World Series", 5-2, on Monday afternoon. The intrasquad scrimmage lasted six innings on a sunny afternoon at Goss Stadium. Freshman Tom Zarosinski highlighted the afternoon on the mound, throwing three scoreless innings to pick up the win for the black squad. Offensively, the Beavers were led by Carter Bell, Andrew Susac and Parker Berberet, who all had two hits in the scrimmage. Berberet paced the black team to the win with a 2-for-2 effort, seeing time behind the plate. Berberet's counterpart, Susac, also had two hits in a 2-for-3 effort. He was matched by Bell, who also went 2-for-3. The Beavers are scheduled to hit the field for the second game of the series Tuesday afternoon at Goss Stadium. The scrimmaged is scheduled to start at approximately 3 p.m. PT. It is free to the public. The series concludes Saturday at Medford's Harry & Field, with a start time of 12 p.m. Admission for that game is $5.
