No. 6 Beavers Blow Past UC Riverside, 14-3
For the second consecutive game, the sixth-ranked Oregon State baseball team sent 10 batters to the plate and scored six runs in an inning. On Sunday, those six runs came in the first and help support first-time starter Andrew Moore in the Beavers' 14-3 win over UC Riverside at Palm Springs Stadium.

Last Game
Oregon State sent 10 batters to the plate during a six-run first and never looked back in a 14-3 win over UC Riverside in a seven-inning game Sunday at Palm Springs Stadium. The Beavers finished with four hits and three walks during the inning and gave cushion to starter Andrew Moore, who was making his first career appearance in an Oregon State uniform. Moore ended the game having thrown 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs - one earned - along with four hits while striking out six. Andy Peterson had three hits in the win.
3-0 Big Time
Oregon State is 3-0 for the first time since the 2007 season and the Beavers have done so in style, outscoring opponents by a 28-7 tally during the first three games. OSU has had two six-run innings in the first three games. OSU last went 4-0 in 2007 when the team started the season 7-0.
Andy Peterson Big Early
Andy Peterson has certainly been a big addition to the lineup early on, going a combined 6-for-12 in the first three games while batting in the leadoff and No. 9 spot of the batting order. He became the first Beaver with three hits in a game Sunday in going 3-for-5 against UC Riverside.
What Returns - Offense
Oregon State returns eight starters from 2012; by virtue of that fact, OSU returns 27 of its 34 home runs (79.4 percent) and 268 of its 336 runs driven in (79.7 percent) from a year ago. Only three players who played significantly are not on the 2013 roster: Ryan Dunn, Ryan Gorton and John Tommasini.
What Returns - Pitching
Oregon State also returns much of its pitching, with the team returning 10 players who saw action on the hill in 2012 compared to just two losses. Thirty-eight of 40 wins (95 percent) return while returners accounted for 500 of 533 1/3 innings (93.7 percent).
Familiar
Oregon State is familiar with all three teams in Palm Springs. Pat Casey is 9-2 lifetime against Utah Valley, 18-11 against Gonzaga and is now 8-4 against UC Riverside.
Singles
Oregon State's bullpen has held opponents scoreless through its first 7 2/3 innings of work this season.
OSU has out-scored UC Riverside, 53-21, in its six neutral site wins over the Highlanders. The Beavers have won five straight over UCR.
