Palm Springs Tournament Looms For Baseball's 2013 Opener

Palm Springs Tournament Web Site CORVALLIS, Ore. - Just a week remains before the sixth-ranked Oregon State baseball team opens it 2013 season and the Beavers begin a 10-day road trip in Palm Springs, Calif. The Beavers will play eight games over a 10-day stretch starting Feb. 15, which is the first day of Division I competition. OSU's first opponent is Utah Valley at 1 p.m. PT and the clubs will match up at Palm Springs Stadium. Gonzaga and UC Riverside will also attend the four-day tournament that stretches through Monday, Feb. 18. The Beavers square off with Gonzaga Saturday at 12:30 p.m., followed by UC Riverside Sunday at 1 p.m. and Monday at 8:30 a.m. Passes for the tournament can be purchased by calling the Palm Springs Power ticket office at 760-778-4487. A full-day pass goes for $20 while those who wish to attend the entire tournament can purchase passes for $50. Utah Valley and Gonzaga open the tournament Friday morning at 10 a.m. while UC Riverside opens against Gonzaga at 4 p.m. Utah Valley and UC Riverside play at 4:30 p.m. Saturday while Gonzaga and Utah Valley meet again - and end their weekend in Palm Springs - Sunday at 10 a.m. After the trip to Palm Springs, the Beavers are headed further south to San Diego for a four-game series with San Diego State starting Thursday, Feb. 21. The series will be held at Tony Gwynn Stadium with ticket info available on goaztecs.com. Live radio coverage will be available for all eight games of the trip, but note, at this time, no streaming video is scheduled. Tickets On Sale Season tickets, mini plan and group tickets and individual tickets for the 2013 Oregon State baseball season are all on sale through beavertickets.com, 1-800-GOBEAVS and in person at the Gill Coliseum ticket office. Season tickets for the season are still available for $400 for infield reserved seats ($360 for senior citizens). Fans who purchase season tickets are guaranteed the same seats the entire season and are given priority toward purchasing postseason should the Beavers host an NCAA Regional or Super Regional - or both. Fans have two different options for mini plans this season. The first, the Orange Pride Pack is good for any five home games (excluding the two games with Oregon) and costs $60 for infield reserve tickets and $30 for outfield general admission seats. Fans also have the option of purchasing a Series Pack, which includes all three games of a series. Those tickets cost $42 for infield reserved seats and $21 for outfield general admission tickets. Group tickets are also available. A minimum of 12 tickets purchased to a game (excluding games against Oregon) will go for $10 per ticket for infield reserved seats and $5 for outfield seats. Single-game seats are $20 per game for infield reserved seats and $10 for outfield general admission tickets. The Beavers open their 2013 campaign Feb. 15 when taking on Utah Valley in Palm Springs, Calif. OSU plays four in Palm Springs before a four-game series the following weekend at San Diego State. The club then returns home for its 2013 Goss Stadium opener March 1 when hosting Bryant.
