Former Oregon State outfielder Logan Boyd returns just a season after exhausting his athletic eligibility to serve as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Beavers.

Boyd spent the past two seasons as an outfielder with the Beavers. He appeared in 36 games over two seasons, batting .277 with two home runs, 13 runs batted in and two doubles.

A native of Medford, Ore., Boyd came to Oregon State after two seasons at the College of San Mateo. While there, he was named the Coast Conference Player of the Year and an All-American his sophomore season after batting .414 with 11 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs and 47 RBI. He was also named all-conference his freshman year. Boyd played in 73 games over two years, collecting 20 home runs and 15 doubles while driving in 81.

Boyd starred at South Medford High School for three seasons, also lettering three years in football as a running back and a safety. Boyd was named all-conference first team his senior year in baseball, a year after being named second-team all-conference.

Boyd's father, Randy Boyd, was a second-round selection in the 1982 MLB Draft by Baltimore. Logan Boyd is also the cousin of current Duke University basketball player Kyle Singler.

Boyd majored in communications during his two-year tenure at Oregon State.
