CAREER: In OSU’s record books, ended his career fifth in games started (94), tied for eighth in assists (374) and 10th in assists per game (3.67) ... A three-time Pac-10 All-Academic honoree.
2005-06: A groin injury caused him to miss much of his senior season and played a major role in OSU’s struggles ... Missed all but one second of the last 15 games ... Was starting at point guard for his fourth year before the injury ... Averaged 5.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.9 minutes ... With Hurd, OSU shot 46.1% from the field and averaged 68.8 points per game; without him, OSU shot 41.5% and averaged 62.8 points ... Hurd’s offense had improved considerably, as he was shooting 46.3% from the field and 71.4% from the line (up from 36.5% and 38.9%, respectively, the year before) ... Started 27 of his 29 games (missed starts were due to the back injury and Senior Night) ... Ranked sixth in the Pac-10 assist/turnover ratio (1.81) ... In conference games only, ranked #1 in assist/turnover ratio (2.57) ... Scored in double-figures just once, posting a season-high 11 points at UNLV ... Had at least five assists eight times, including a season-high nine in a home win vs. Arizona State ... Was the conference’s leader for assist/turnover ratio at 2.3-to-1 ... Finished second in the Pac-10 for assists per game at 4.9 ... Upped his assist total from his freshman season from 105 to 138 and lowered his turnover total from 66 to 59 ... His 138 assists for the season ranks as the fourth-highest total by a Beaver sophomore ... Scored in double-figures in four games, including matching his career high with 13 points in a victory vs. Oregon ...
