BEAV'havior Counts
Oregon State Department of Athletics is reminding the loyal fans of Beaver Nation to continue to conduct themselves in a good and proper manner by always displaying good sportsmanship. The sportsmanship program for Oregon State Athletics is titled - BE(AV)'havior Counts - and simply means good sportsmanship will be mandatory by all Oregon State fans, visiting team fans, coaches, staff and student-athletes.
"Our fans are already known to be courteous and respectful. And our student-athletes and staff know they provide a great atmosphere which makes playing the Beavs tough. Beav'havior Counts is just a simple way for us to remind ourselves that winning is important and doing it with class matters as well." said Mark Massari, OSU's Senior Associate Athletic Director.
- * BE(AV)havior Counts is a sportsmanship awareness program designed to promote first-class fan conduct at Oregon State athletic events. Part of the commitment of attending and supporting the Beavers is to exhibit respectful behavior - now BE(AV)'havior - at all times to fellow fans, opposing fans, game-day staff and student-athlete's from both sides.
- * Beaver fans are the caretakers of the great game day experience Oregon State is known for. Disrespectful conduct results in a game day environment that is less enjoyable for the majority of fans in attendance.
- * Fans who witness any violations of stadium guidelines to report these actions to the nearest guest services person.
- * While the extremes of this unwanted behavior are not commonplace at Oregon State athletic events it is important for all fans in attendance to display a respectable level of proper BE(AV)'havior. Please join us in our efforts to maintain Oregon State's national reputation as an intense and hard place to play and always a first-class host. Oregon State Athletics will also insist on respectful BE(AV)'havior by our fans and student-athletes when traveling as well.
- * BE(AV)'havior Counts will be promoted before every OSU sporting event along with additional information on venue policies found in the guest guide for Oregon State athletic events.
The mission of Oregon State Athletics is to provide opportunities and develop leaders - everyday - for all 17-sports and over 500 student-athletes who succeed in the classroom, in the community, in life and on the fields of play.
