• Joined the program as a freshman, went 5-8 in open tournaments.

RODRIGUEZ HIGH SCHOOL
• Wrestled four years, played football two years and was on the track team one year and earned scholar-athlete awards in all three sports at Rodriguez HS.
• In wrestling, he was the team captain, a CIF state qualifier and sectional finalist, and a regional placer at the Greco World Dual tournament; in football, he was a two-year starter and Monticello Empire League all-star at defensive line.
• Graduated with a 4.3 GPA and was a member of the school honor roll and the National Honor Society, and was a Golden State Scholar.

• Son of Sam and Randa Rateb; has older siblings Zenab, Rukaya, Sue and Abe, and younger siblings Joseph and Amina.
