Did not compete because of injury ... Was one of five student/athletes nationally to receive a 2017 Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award from the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A). The award honors student-athletes who have overcome great personal, academic, and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in intercollegiate athletics. Recipients may not be the best athletes or students, and may not have been recognized by other organizations or awards.
Nonetheless, they have persevered and made significant personal strides toward success ... Named OSU Everyday Champion ... Ended career with 17-23 record.
2015-16
Went 7-12 overall and was 1-0 in his lone dual match ... had three pins ... did not place in six open tournaments ... dual win was over Brandon Harkey in shutout of Clackamas Community College.
2014-15
Went 8-9 competing in open tournaments ... finished first at Boxer Open and took second at the Mike Clock Open ... five of his eight wins were by pin.
2013-14
Redshirted; competed unattached and went 1-2 at 174 pounds at the Mike Clock Open, with one pin.
CLUB
Wrestled for Peninsula Wrestling Club under coach Roy Pitman ... was Oregon Greco-Roman champion in 2012.
FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL
Won four letters in wrestling, was team captain his junior and senior seasons, and was 101-19 lifetime ... lettered three years in football as a linebacker/running back and was team captain and an all-PIL linebacker his senior year ... also lettered once in soccer as a midfielder ... was on the honor roll and graduated with a 3.75 GPA.
PERSONAL
Son of Kahlid and Heiam Alshujery ... has six siblings ... exercise and sports science major who hopes to attend medical school ... made OSU honor roll in spring quarxter 2016 ... enjoys working out, hiking, biking, and chess ... DOB 6/1/1993 ... chose Oregon State because of "the great wrestling coaches and program, academics, and it is not too far from home."
