The Game —
- Oregon State hosts Minnesota in the Beavers' third game of the season on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT at Reser Stadium.
- The game is slated to air on FS1. FS1 can be found on Dish Network (150), Xfinity/Comcast (408, 723 HD), DirecTV (219), and Charter Spectrum (211). Consult your provider for other listings.
- Every game this season can be heard live via the TuneIn application, which is available online and on smartphones and tablets. To find the game, once the app has been downloaded, search "Beaver Sports Network."
- Oregon State is 1-3 all-time against Minnesota, last meeting the Golden Gophers in 2016 in the Twin Cities. Minnesota won the 2016 season opener by a 30-23 score.
- This is the first matchup between the teams to take place in Corvallis; the previous four were all in Minneapolis.
- The Beavers are hosting just their third game against a Big Ten team since 1971. Oregon State defeated Wisconsin, 10-7, in 2012. Before that, it had been more than 40 years since the Beavers beat Iowa, 33-19, at then-Parker Stadium in 1971.
- Oregon State is set to wear its "11 Strong" uniform against the Golden Gophers. The uniform, which features predominantly dark gray with silver numbers and a silver logo, was unveiled to the team via a "movie trailer" while in Bend.
- The Beavers are looking to post a winning record in regular season non-conference action for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
On This Date —
- Oregon State last played on Sept. 9 in 2000 when defeating New Mexico, 28-20, in Corvallis. It was the second of four consecutive wins to open the season.
- OSU has played on Sept. 9 just five times all-time, going 2-3.
Against Minnesota —
- Oregon State and Minnesota are meeting for the fifth time, with the Golden Gophers winning three of the first four.
- The Beavers' lone win in the series came in 1978, a 17-14 decision in Minneapolis.
- Head coach Gary Andersen was 2-0 against Minnesota during his tenure at Wisconsin; the Badgers won, 20-7, in Minnesota in 2013, and defeated the Gophers, 34-24, in 2014 at home.
- Assistant coach Dave Baldwin was 2-2 against Minnesota while the offensive coordinator at Michigan State from 2003-06. The Spartans won in 2003 (44-38) and 2004 (51-17), before losing in 2005 (41-18) and 2006 (31-18).
- Ryan Nall ran for 71 yards and Darell Garretson was 25-of-40 for 228 yards and three touchdowns in last season's game.

- Oregon State is 16-39-1 all-time against current members of the Big Ten.
- The Beavers will have now played Big Ten teams in back-to-back seasons (Michigan in 2015). Prior to that, Oregon State's last meeting with a Big Ten team came against Wisconsin, a 10-7 win in 2012 at Reser Stadium. The Badgers were also the last Big Ten team to visit Corvallis.
- Oregon State is scheduled to visit Ohio State in 2018.
O-Line —
- Oregon State has held opponents to just one sack over the first two games of the season.
- That's the fewest given up by Oregon State over the first two games of a season since the 1988 Beavers allowed one to Arizona in the first game, then shut down San Jose State.
Firsts —
- A number of Beavers recorded firsts in the win over Portland State. They include:
- Isaiah Hodgins caught his first touchdown pass. The score, with 1:08 left in the fourth quarter, served as the game-winner.
- Trevorris Johnson ran for his first career OSU touchdown, a 3-yarder in the third quarter that put OSU up 21-20.
- Jalen Moore recovered his first career fumble. The recovery came deep in OSU territory, helping stifle what at the time was an 11-play Vikings' drive.Â
- Oregon State has committed eight penalties for 73 yards over the first two games, compared to 13 for 95 yards by opponents.
- The Beavers had committed 13 in their first two games of 2016, and 15 over the first two in 2015.
True Frosh, Early Impacts —
- True freshmen David Morris and Kesi Ah-Hoy saw increased playing time on defense against Portland State, and made their time count.
- Morris and Ah-Hoy tied for third team on the team with six tackles, with each picking up credit for a TFL.
- Morris' TFL came with Portland State at the OSU 1-yard-line, went for 10 yards, and helped end the Vikings' drive later at the 2. The Beavers then went on a 98-yard TD drive.
Déjà vu —
- Manase Hungalu's 21-yard interception for a touchdown return against PSU marked the second of his career after doing the same against UCLA in 2016.
- Only three OSU players have done so three times in their career: Reggie Tongue (1992-95), Derrick Doggett (2004-07) and Jordan Poyer (2009-12).
Luton's Debut —
- Jake Luton's 304 passing yards against Colorado State to open the season were the second-most by an Oregon State quarterback in a debut.
- Matt Moore holds the record with 367 yards against Portland State in 2005, a 41-14 win.
- Luton's 304 yards mark the 84th time an OSU quarterback has reached the 300-yard plateau.
- The 304 yards tie Luton at No. 79 with Ladd McKittrick, who reached that total in 1983 against California.
From Hawai'i —
- Twelve players hail from the state of Hawai'i, which gives Oregon State the most players to hail from the islands, aside from the University of Hawai'i.
- Hawaiian natives Moku Watson, Kesi Ah-Hoy, Alexander Skelton, Keli'i Montibon and Onesimus Clarke joined the program in 2017.
Nall For 100, Again —
- Ryan Nall's 115 rushing yards against Colorado State gave him seven such efforts in his career. That ties him with Storm Woods (2012-15) for 10th-most at Oregon State.
- Nall, who had posted three consecutive 100-yard games - against Arizona and Oregon in 2016, CSU in 2017 - can move into a tie for ninth with Bryce Oglesby (1980-83) with his eighth.
- He now has an Oregon State record three carries of at least 75 yards in his career after scoring on a 75-yarder against CSU. His others include 89 yards against Washington State and 80 against California, both coming in 2016.
Dream Come True —
- Unitus Community Credit Union and Oregon State have partnered to create the "Dream Come True" Program to fulfill one child's dream. It is designed for children who are or have battled an unfortunate illness and includes hosting a child for every home Beaver football game during the 2017 season. Dream Come True will help provide a lasting experience to children eighth grade age or younger (per NCAA regulations) and their families who are facing or have faced an unfortunate time of illness. For more information, visit osubeavers.com/dreamcometrue.
- This week's "Dream Come True" recipient is Elias from Beaverton, a 4-year-old who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Elias will be hosted by the team this weekend.
The Schedule —
- Seven of the Beavers' first eight games of the 2017 season feature opponents who played in a bowl game last season.
- Those seven opponents combined for a 66-27 (.710) record last season.
- The stretch concludes with four 10-plus win teams: Washington (12 wins), USC (10), Colorado (10) and Stanford (10).
- Oregon State opens Pac-12 play Sept. 16 at Washington State. The first five league opponents OSU will face combined for an overall record of 50-17 (36-9 Pac-12) last year, a winning percentage of .746. The final four opponents combined for an overall record of 17-31 (8-28 in Pac-12) last season, a winning percentage of .354.
11 Strong —
- During the team's trip to Bend, Oregon State staff unveiled to the team an alternate uniform.
- The uniform, primarily a dark gray with silver numbers, features a silver Beaver Head on a black helmet, with a single orange stripe.
- The uniform was unveiled prior to the team's screening of Planet of the Apes, via a "movie trailer" at Regal Old Mill Stadium 16. That trailer is available by visiting YouTube.com/OSUBeaversAthletics.
- The uniform is slated to be worn Sept. 9 against Minnesota.
Speaking Of Bend —
- The Beavers worked out in Bend for nearly one week - five practices and a scrimmage - at the end of July and early August.
- It marked the second consecutive year the team traveled to Central Oregon.
- The team stayed in newly-built dorms on the campus of Oregon State University-Cascades, and practiced at Summit High School.
- The team was able to work on team-bonding as well as receiving the benefits of working out at an elevation of 3,623 feet.
One Of Two —
- Oregon State is one of two Power 5 programs to have two byes this season. The other is Stanford, which also opened the 2017 season during Week Zero, playing Rice in Australia.
- Twenty teams have two byes, with the Sun Belt accounting for better than 50 percent - 12 in all. Its schedule allocates two byes for every team.
- Oregon State was originally scheduled for one bye - Oct. 21. The second, Sept. 23, came when the game against Colorado State was moved to the season opener. That announcement came June 1.
True Frosh —
- Five true freshmen have played this season. They include: Isaiah Hodgins, Calvin Tyler, Jr., Tino Allen, David Morris and Kesi Ah-Hoy.
Seniors —
- Seventeen seniors dot Oregon State's roster this season, which is close to the fewest in the Pac-12 Conference.
- USC, UCLA and Washington lay claim to the fewest, with all three having 16 on their respective rosters.
- Stanford (25), Utah (24) and Colorado (23) have the most in the Pac-12.
Honoring Giant Killers —
- The 1967 "Giant Killers" will be honored during Oregon State's Oct. 14 game against Colorado at Reser Stadium.
- The "Giant Killers" went 7-2-1, defeating No. 1 USC, No. 2 Purdue and tying second-ranked UCLA.
Win The Turnover Battle, Win The Game —
- Over the last 162 games, Oregon State is 53-17 when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent, 12-45 when committing more and 18-18 when even.
