- Oregon State trails in the series, 63-34-4. The Huskies have won five straight after the Beavers had won seven of the previous eight, including six consecutive from 2004-09.
- Saturday's matchup is the earliest meeting between the teams since 1995 when Washington won a 26-16 matchup in Corvallis.
- That 1995 meeting, in fact, marked the first and only time the teams have met in the month of September, prior to Saturday's game.
On This Date —
- Oregon State last played on Sept. 30 in 2006, dropping a 41-13 decision to California in Corvallis.
- OSU has played on Sept. 30 11 times, going 5-6. That includes a 31-21 win over No. 8 USC in 2000 at then-Parker Stadium.
Against Washington —
- Washington leads in the series, 63-34-4 and is 20-10 in games played in Corvallis. The Huskies have won five consecutive games, but the Beavers had taken 7-of-8 prior to the streak's start in 2012.
- Oregon State started a stretch of eight wins in 11 games in 2001 after the Huskies had won 13 straight between 1986 and 2000. In 2000, UW's 33-30 win was the Beavers' lone loss en route to a co-Pac-10 Championship and a win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
- OSU's 49 points scored in that 2001 game remain the team's most in a single contest against Washington.
- Tim Cook rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown and Victor Bolden, Jr., scored on a 75-yard rush in last season's matchup, a 41-17 loss to the Huskies. Amongst returners, Jordan Villamin and Timmy Hernandez each had two receptions and Bright Ugwoegbu tallied six tackles.

- Smith was Oregon State's starter through the 2001 season, which included a victory in the 2000 Fiesta Bowl after the Beavers were co-Pac-10 champions.

Students will be notified at halftime via a PA announcement in the stadium if they have been selected to participate. Current OSU student-athletes are ineligible to compete.
- The selected students will compete on the field following the third quarter.
