
Oregon State Set to Host Trinity Western in Friday Exhibition

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's soccer team will start off the 2017 season on Friday, when it hosts an exhibition match vs. Trinity Western at Paul Lorenz Field. Admission to the contest will be free to all fans, and the game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
The Beavers' 2017 squad features seven seniors, including three of the team's top four scorers from a year ago. Oregon State won the final two games of the 2016 season, and is looking to carry that momentum into the upcoming year.
Nikki Faris and Emma Jones lead the front line for Oregon State. The duo combined to score 10 goals last season, as well as dishing out 11 assists. In the net, senior goalkeeper Bella Geist is already third in Beaver history for career saves, and will look to continue her outstanding collegiate career this season.
Trinity Western posted a perfect 12-0-3 regular-season record last season, scoring 34 goals in 15 matches. The side from Langley, British Columbia finished second in the Canada West Conference in 2016.
Oregon State will open the regular season on Aug. 18, when it host Kansas State at Lorenz Field.
