Beavers Win Again, Go Undefeated In Spain

MALAGA, Spain – Tres Tinkle and Drew Eubanks each posted a double-double to lead the Oregon State men's basketball team to a 76-59 win over CB Benahavis Costa del Sol at the Pabellon Municipal de Deportes de Benahavis on Friday.
With the win, the Beavers concluded their Spain trip with a 4-0 record with victories over Combinado Valenciano (114-71), Multiópticas Baza (91-47), Club Baloncesto Unicaja Malaga (110-40) and CB Benahavis Costa del Sol (76-59).
Tinkle, a redshirt sophomore forward, scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to post his second double-double on the trip. He led Oregon State in scoring all four games, while averaging 18.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. The Missoula, Mont., native also went 18-for-18 from the free throw line in the four contests.
Eubanks, a junior forward from Troutdale, Ore., had his best game on the trip with 16 points and 10 boards. He went 7-for-12 from the field and added three blocked shots and two steals.
Junior guard Stephen Thompson Jr. had 12 points, six assists and two steals and sophomore guard Kendal Manuel came off the bench to score eight points with two 3-pointers.
The Beavers shot 43.6 percent (17-for-39) from the field in the first half but struggled in the second frame against an aggressive CB Benahavis defense, making just 9 of their 34 shots(26.5 percent). They finished the game at 35.6 percent (26-for-73).
Oregon State's defense was solid once again, finishing with 15 steals and four blocked shots. The Beavers had 19 assists on their 26 baskets and 13 turnovers.
Sophomore guard JaQuori McLaughlin finished the night with seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. He had a team-high 22 assists in the four games on the trip and only four turnovers.
Freshman guard Ethan Thompson got into early foul trouble but posted seven points, three rebounds and three steals.
JaQuori McLaughlin, Stephen Thompson Jr., Tres Tinkle, Drew Eubanks and Seth Berger started all four games in Spain.
