Kumpula, Liebich Named All-America Scholars

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men's golfers Conner Kumpula and Jonas Liebich were announced as Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulaÂtive grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Kumpula, a native of Albany, Ore., was named a GCAA Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar for the second straight year. His 3.32 cumulative GPA in industrial engineering earned him Pac-12 All-Academic honors for the past three years, including Second Team recognition after his junior season.

Liebich, a rising senior from Ingolstadt, Germany, carries a 3.40 cumulative GPA in business/finance. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team this past season after earning Honorable Mention recognition as a sophomore.
