Corvallis – Oregon State University Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Barnes announced Friday the appointment of Dan Bartholomae as deputy athletic director for capital projects and internal operations.
Bartholomae arrives in Corvallis after spending the last 15 years at the University of Pittsburgh, where he most recently served as the deputy athletic director for internal affairs. "Dan is one of the rising stars in all of intercollegiate athletics administration and we are extremely excited to have him as a member of Beaver Nation," Barnes said. "His impressive track record of success and his collaborative leadership style will be a great fit for us. His breadth of experience in strategic and facilities planning, and as a sports administrator for football and other programs will serve Oregon State well." Â
Bartholomae will immediately embark on leading the development of OSU Athletics' strategic planning initiatives upon arrival next month. In addition, his responsibilities include serving as the lead building manager and capital projects director for the Beavers' athletic facilities. He will have oversight of the event management staff, as well as administrative and budgetary functions, and will work as a liaison between OSU Athletics, facilities, campus special interest groups and outside contractors. He will also serve as the sport supervisor for football as well other to be determined programs.
"I am thrilled to be joining a great team at Oregon State; the energy and enthusiasm on campus is contagious, and I want to thank Scott Barnes for extending this exciting opportunity to me and my family." Bartholomae said. "We are incredibly excited to be joining the Corvallis community, and I look forward to building great relationships there, while helping our team create a championship experience for our coaches, student-athletes, staff and fans. I also want to thank the University of Pittsburgh for the many great years and genuine friendships we made."
Bartholomae most recently had oversight of the sport administration team, facilities planning and event operations, sports medicine, NCAA Governance, student-athlete development and financial services at Pitt. He also was the sports supervisor for the Panthers' football and men's basketball teams.
