
Five Beavers Earn Pac-12 All-Academic

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State softball team added five student-athletes to its postseason accolades totals, as Taylor Cotton, Alysha Everett, Riley Gregoire, Sammi Noland and Kayleen Shafer were named to the All-Academic team announced by the Pac-12 Conference on Monday.

Taylor Cotton paced the group with second-team honors for the first time, holding a 3.60 GPA in economics. The senior finished her stint in the Orange and Black with a career-best 2.50 ERA and a 14-11 record this season. The lefty racked up a career-high 11 strikeouts in the final game against Kent State in the Waco Regional.

Alysha Everett, Riley Gregoire, Sammi Noland and Kayleen Shafer were all named to the honorable mention team for the first time.

Alysha Everett, a bio-health sciences major, led the team in doubles (11), home runs (8) RBI (45) and slugging (.554). The junior closed the season tied for seventh for the most RBIs in a single season.

Riley Gregoire, a pre-business major, appeared in 42 games, mainly as a pinch runner. The sophomore scored 20 runs for the Beavers, including going 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

Sammi Noland, a public health major, finished her career at Oregon State after transferring from Nebraska following her sophomore season. Noland started in five different position while playing at Oregon State, including third base, short stop, second base, catcher and right field.

Kayleen Shafer, a pre-business major, started all 55games behind the plate for Oregon State and threw out eight runners trying to swipe a base this season. She recorded five doubles and three home runs on the season.
