Attendance Watch At Home
OSU saw its 10th crowd of 3,000 or more in 2017 with 3,551 in attendance Sunday, giving the Beavers a series total of 10,567 against Cal, a three-game series record. OSU is averaging 3,061 per home date in 2017.
Last Game
Adley Rutschman and Michael Gretler each homered to pace OSU in the first game of the series, 6-1, on Thursday. Both, along with Jack Anderson, drove in two in the win.
Outright Magic Number Is One
Oregon State's win Thursday gave the Beavers at least a share of the 2017 Pac-12 title. OSU became the first team nationally to earn its conference's automatic bid to the NCAA postseason by virtue of holding the Pac-12's tiebreaker. A win tonight in the second game of the series would give the Beavers the outright crown.
Titles
Oregon State's win Thursday night gave the Beavers at least a share of their fifth conference title since the then-Pac-10 unified in 1999. OSU's five are the most in the league, surpassing Stanford and Arizona State, which have four apiece. All five Oregon State titles have come since 2005 - 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014 and now 2017.
Casey Going For 1,000
Oregon State head coach Pat Casey can win his 1,000th game at the collegiate level with the Beavers' next victory. He tallied 171 wins at George Fox in seven seasons, and has 828 with the Beavers since 1995.
And Going For 40
The next win for the Beavers will be their 40th on the year - OSU is vying to become the second team nationally to hit that mark, and join Louisville, which starts Friday at 43. OSU is aiming for its eighth 40-win season since 2005.
Singles
• Steven Kwan saw his seven-game hit streak snapped Thursday but he also walked twice, pushing his eight-game total in that category to 11. He has 19 on the year to 10 strikeouts.
• The Beavers became the last team nationally to allow 100 runs this season.
• Adley Rutschman has nine RBI over his last five games.
