
Evan Simon to Accept Prestigious Award

Evan Simon, Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach at Oregon State University, will be named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). This honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession, and the ceremony is undoubtedly the highlight of the association's National Conference each year. Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Kathy Wagner, from the University of Texas at Arlington, will present Coach Simon with the blue MSCC Jacket on Thursday evening, May 11, 2017, at the Coronado Springs Convention Center in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
"This is an incredible honor for Evan," says CSCCa Executive Director, Dr. Chuck Stiggins. "Being named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach signifies a commitment to the student athlete, the Oregon State University Athletic Program, and the strength and conditioning profession. We are honored to have Coach Simon as a member of our association and to have him join the ranks of the Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches. He is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional."
Simon is in his third year at Oregon State after previous appointments at Wisconsin, Utah State, Utah, Davidson and Kentucky. The native of Lexington Park, MD., possesses a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Frostburg State University and earned a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Kentucky.
