Rutschman pinch hit for Zak Taylor in the sixth, driving the first pitch he saw from reliever Grady Miller to left. Two scored and the Beavers pushed ahead for good after falling behind 3-2 via a two-run fourth inning by the Pilots. Celebrating 2007
Oregon State, during the series with Utah, will honor the 10-year anniversary of the team's 2007 National Championship. Members of that club who have the opportunity to return will sign autographs before Saturday's game. 18 Strikeouts, That's A Lot
The 18 strikeouts tallied by Sam Tweedt, Brandon Eisert and Jake Mulholland in Tuesday's game at Portland tied the program record, previously set in 1941 against Idaho. Eisert's nine on the night were just two shy of the season-high by an OSU pitcher, 11 by Luke Heimlich on March 10 against Ball State.
The First To 9-0
Oregon State takes a 9-0 conference record into Friday's opener with the Utes. The Beavers are the first team in the Pac-10/12 to go 9-0 in league play since the then-Pac-10 unified in 1999.
20 Games
Oregon State is on a 20-game win streak, a program record, which ties Missouri for the longest in the nation this season. The streak broke the previous school record of 18 games set in both 1951 and 1962.
