Grant Gambrell allowed five hits and a run in 5 2/3 innings of relief in top-ranked Oregon State's 7-1 loss to UCLA Saturday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Bruins scored four in the first and two in the second off starter Bryce Fehmel before a solo home run against Gambrell in the third. Nick Madrigal drove in the Beavers' lone run in the eighth inning with a double down the right field line that scored Christian Donahue from first. Donahue had reached first on a wild pitch on a swinging strike three. Five different Beavers all recorded one hit - Madrigal, Michael Gretler, Cadyn Grenier, Zak Taylor and Adley Rutschman.
Going For A Series Win Sunday
The Beavers are looking for their ninth consecutive Pac-12 Conference series win when OSU and UCLA conclude the series Sunday. Oregon State has swept six of the last eight series dating back to the 2016 season.
At UCLA
The Beavers are looking to win their first series at UCLA since 2013, when taking 2-of-3 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Coming into the series, Oregon State has won four of its last six series against the Bruins in LA, and eight of the last 12 versus UCLA regardless of location.
Last Trip Out Of State
The series with UCLA marks the final trip out of the state of Oregon for OSU during the regular season. The Beavers have 15 home games remaining, three at Oregon in Pac-12 play and then a non-conference game with Portland in Keizer on May 16.
Gambrell With A Sterling Relief Outing
Freshman Grant Gambrell came on in relief in the second inning of Saturday's game. The right-hander worked a season-long 5 2/3 innings, throwing a career-high 101 pitches. He held the Bruins to five hits and a run with three strikeouts, lowering his earned run average to 2.63 from 3.38.

• The Beavers are facing their second rubber match of the season Sunday. OSU defeated Washington, 3-0, last Saturday to take the series from the Huskies.
• Michael Gretler extended his hit streak to four games with a double Saturday. His season-long streak is seven games.
