
Four Beavers Earn All-America Honors

Four Oregon State gymnasts earned All-America honors when it was announced by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Saturday. Seniors Erika Aufiero, Silvia Colussi-Pelaez, Madeline Gardiner and Kaytianna McMillan earned their All-America status through their performances at the NCAA Championships Semifinals on Friday and is the most in a single season for Oregon State since 2011.

Gardiner maneuvered through a fantastic routine on the balance beam to score 9.9125 to finish tied for fourth in the session and eighth overall on Friday. It is the third time in her career, Gardiner has earned All-America First Team on the beam after accomplishing the feat in 2014 and 2015. The exercise and sport science major concludes her career as a six-time All-American was named as a second team Regular Season All-American last month by NACGC/W.

Aufiero tied for fifth on the uneven bars with a score of 9.8875 Friday to earn second team All-America accolades. It is the second time she has placed at NCAA Championships earning first team honors on the bars in 2015. Aufiero, who is double-majoring in finance and accountancy, concludes a strong senior campaign having won the Pac-12 title on the bars last month. She was also named as a second team Regular Season All-American on the bars by the NACGC/W last month.

McMillan, who has just completed one of the most dominant seasons in program history, scored 9.90 on the floor exercise to tie for eighth in the session and earned All-America Second Team. It is the first postseason All-America award for McMillan and the fourth total after earning Regular Season All-America second team honors on floor and in the all-around last month and also first team on the bars in 2016. The human development and family sciences major, won 26 event titles in 2017.

Colussi-Pelaez collected the first All-America honor of her career picking up second team honors on the beam. The double major in chemical engineering and environmental engineering scored a 9.90 on the beam in the middle of the Beavers' lineup on Friday.

All-Americans are determined by each gymnast's finish in her semifinals session, with first through fourth place finishers being named to the first team and the fifth through eighth place finishers belonging on the second team in each semifinal.
