Adley Rutschman tallied three hits and every Oregon State starter recorded at least one hit to lead top-ranked Oregon State to a 5-2 win over Washington Friday at Husky Ballpark. Rutschman singled twice and doubled home a run in the eighth for his second career three-hit game. Christian Donahue, Michael Gretler and KJ Harrison all had two hits in the win, guiding OSU to 15 overall.
More First-Inning Offense Friday
Trevor Larnach drove home a run in the first for the second straight game, pushing OSU to a 1-0 lead after half an inning. On Thursday, it was a double past the third-base bag. On Friday, he sliced a hard single to right, bringing Steven Kwan in from second.
Lowering That ERA
Bryce Fehmel's one run allowed in 6 2/3 innings Friday lowered his earned run average to 3.00 from 3.25 prior to the start. With his start, Oregon State's starting staff has an ERA of 1.83 in 197 innings this season – 40 earned runs allowed – and has struck out 179 to just 52 walks. In 18 games away from Goss Stadium this season, the starters have a 1.81 ERA – 24 earned runs in 119 1/3 innings.
Grenier Extends To 10
Cadyn Grenier doubled in the fourth inning, extending his hit streak to 10 games. That ties Trevor Larnach for the second-longest hit streak by an OSU player this season. They both trail Nick Madrigal's team-long 17-game streak.
