Nick Madrigal doubled and tripled, tallying three runs, and KJ Harrison went 2-for-4 with an RBI but a late Oregon State rally wasn't enough in a 3-2 loss to Washington Thursday night in Seattle. Trevor Larnach also drove in a run on a double down the line in the first. Luke Heimlich worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs and was charged with the loss.

Relievers Grant Gambrell and Mitchell Verburg combined to hold Washington scoreless over 1 2/3 innings Thursday, lowering the bullpen's overall ERA to 1.68 this season, and 1.11 in true road games. Verburg tossed a career-high 31 pitches and got out of no out, bases-loaded jam in the ninth.
