CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University Athletics is proud to announce Kevin Murphy and Haley Nist have been named March Student-Athletes of the Month.
Â
Murphy, a senior from Rogue River, Ore., has played in every tournament during his four-year Oregon State golfing career. He had a 4.0 GPA during this past winter term and is on pace to graduate this spring with a degree in economics.
Â
"Oregon State has given me countless opportunities and has surrounded me with people who want nothing more than to see others succeed," Murphy said. "I am thankful to have made the most of these opportunities with the support of others around me."
Â
Nist, a junior from Meridian, Idaho, had a scoring average of 74.43 last year, the best single-season scoring average in Oregon State history. Majoring in marketing, she earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention honors in her first eligible year.
Â
"I'm honored to be selected for this," Nist said. "It means so much to be able to receive a great education and learn life skills that will set me up for success after graduation."
Â
Two student-athletes are selected each month, coordinated by the Academics for Student-Athletes staff.Â
