ROTATION ORDER
For the second time in the last three meets, Oregon State begins the meet on the floor exercise. OSU will follow Utah throughout the afternoon, while Oklahoma will follow the Beavers. This rotation means the Beavers will finish the meet on a bye along with Washington, while UCLA will finish on vault, Denver on uneven bars, Oklahoma on balance beam and Utah on the floor. See the table below for more details.
LAST YEAR AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
In 2016, two OSU gymnasts qualified to nationals with Madeline Gardiner as a individual qualifier in the all-around, and Risa Perez on the balance beam. Gardiner scored 39.200 in the all-around to finish ninth. Perez scored 9.8625 on the beam to tie for 13th.
LAST TIME ON THE COMPETITION FLOOR
The Beavers entered the NCAA Champaign Regional as the second-seeded team and advanced despite a tough meet. Illinois, which was seeded fourth and was the home team, performed well and were in second place for most of the meet. OSU and Illinois sat tied entering the final rotation when the Beavers produced a strong floor set to pull ahead. However, it was an unexpected push from third-seeded Iowa on the beam that put a scare in the Orange & Black. The Hawkeyes scored 49.600 in the final rotation coming up just one-tenth short of the Beavers. Kaytianna McMillan won the all-around (39.400) and delivered a meet-high tying 9.875 on the floor to send the team on to NCAA Championships. Dani Dessaints delivered a 9.925 on the vault in the opening rotation that held up throughout the afternoon to win the regional title.
