Last Game
Jake Mulholland tossed four scoreless innings of relief and Cadyn Grenier roped a bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning to send Oregon State to a 4-1 victory over UC Davis Sunday at Goss Stadium. With the win, the Beavers swept the Aggies by a combined score of 22-3. Mulholland faced one batter over the minimum, allowing just one hit while striking out two, for his first career win. Grenier, meanwhile, finished the afternoon with two hits and three runs batted in.
Against Ball State
Oregon State is meeting Ball State for just the second time in program history, and the first in Corvallis. The Beavers won their only previous meeting, 7-6, last season in Surprise, Ariz. Ball State is a member of the Mid-American Conference; OSU is 3-2 all-time against current members of the conference.
Casey Nearing 800
Oregon State head coach Pat Casey's next victory will be his 800th all-time with the Beavers. He is the winningest coach in Oregon State history, regardless of sport.
Six On The Weekend
Cadyn Grenier had a big weekend against UC Davis, totaling four hits, two triples and six runs batted in. He now has a team-leading nine RBI on the year, and his four triples are tied for the nation's lead and is tops in the Pac-12.
ERA And WHIP
The Beavers have kept their ERA and WHIP pretty low this season. So low both figures rank second nationally. The team's 1.36 ERA is second to Harvard's 1.25. The WHIP, meanwhile, is at 0.95, slightly behind Missouri State's 0.94.
