Oregon State swept UC Davis in a doubleheader Saturday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, winning game one, 4-0, before taking game two, 14-2. Luke Heimlich and Sam Tweedt each picked up victories as the Beavers improved to 9-1 on the year. Adley Rutschman went 3-for-5 in game two, while Nick Madrigal hit his second home run of the season. The Beavers rapped out a season-best 15 hits in the second game of the doubleheader.
A Pitching Kind Of Day
The Oregon State pitching staff combined for 18 innings of work Saturday, scattering eight hits and just two runs. The Beavers struck out a combined 21 batters while issuing only two walks.Â
Meanwhile, A Sharp Day For The Offense
The Oregon State offense combined for 18 runs in the two wins, adding 23 hits. Of those 23 hits, seven went for extra bases. The Beavers also collected 11 walks and struck out a total of nine times.

Gretler Moves To Five Games
Junior Michael Gretler went 2-for-4 in the second game Saturday to move his hit streak to five games. He is 8-for-18 with five runs batted in during the streak.
Casey Nearing 800
The two wins Saturday gave head coach Pat Casey 798 in his 23 seasons at Oregon State. He can reach the plateau Tuesday against Portland. Casey is eighth all-time in conference history for wins, trailing No. 7 Frank Sancet, who won 831 games at Arizona from 1950-72.
