Oregon State combined for 18 runs and 23 hits in the win

Luke Heimlich was dominant in game one, striking out 10 – reaching double figures for the second time this season – while limiting the Aggies to just three singles. He did not issue a walk and improved to 2-0 on the season after picking up the win.

Nick Madrigal and KJ Harrison each had two hits to lead the Oregon State (9-1 overall) attack. Madrigal, Adley Rutschman, Andy Atwood and Cadyn Grenier all drove in a run apiece.

Robert Garcia started for UC Davis (3-5) overall and took the loss, dropping to 0-1. He allowed seven hits and four runs in seven innings.

Game two saw Oregon State jump out to an 8-0 lead in the first after sending 11 batters to the plate. Sam Tweedt took the quick advantage and limited the Aggies to three hits and two for his third win of the season.

Offensively, the Beaver rapped out a season-best 15 hits, led by Rutschman, who tallied a 3-for-5 day. He doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in one.

Madrigal hit a solo home run in the seventh en route to two RBI, while Grenier, Andy Armstrong, Christian Donahue and Michael Gretler all had two as well.

Oregon State did its damage against UC Davis starter Orlando Razo, who allowed nine runs and nine hits over four innings. He took the loss, falling to 2-1.

Answer To A Trivia Question One Day
Who picked up the Beavers' first hit at home in 2017? That honor belongs to Trevor Larnach, who doubled to left to open the second inning. Larnach also happened to be the first Oregon State batter to record a hit this season, doubling in the season opener against Indiana in Surprise, Ariz.

Pretty Good Start To Game Two
The Beavers sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning of game two, jumping out to the eight-run advantage. Oregon State has now sent nine or more to the plate in three different innings over the first 10 games of the season.

A Pitching Kind Of Day
The Oregon State pitching staff combined for 18 innings of work Saturday, scattering eight hits and just two runs. The Beavers struck out a combined 21 batters while issuing only two walks.

Meanwhile, A Sharp Day For The Offense
The Oregon State offense combined for 18 runs in the two wins, adding 23 hits. Of those 23 hits, seven went for extra bases. The Beavers also collected 11 walks and struck out a total of nine times.

Oregon State finds itself at 9-1 through the first 10 games of the season for the second consecutive year. The Beavers have posted at least a 6-4 record through the first 10 games for nine straight seasons.

Casey Nearing 800
The two wins Saturday gave head coach Pat Casey 798 in his 23 seasons at Oregon State. He can reach the plateau Tuesday against Portland. Casey is eighth all-time in conference history for wins, trailing No. 7 Frank Sancet, who won 831 games at Arizona from 1950-72.
