SAN FRANCISCO – 11 Oregon State women's swimming student-athletes have earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, the conference office announced today. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
Â
The group is headlined by a trio of first-team All-Academic selections, Chelsea Chan, Tair Maimon and Noemie Midrez.
Â
Senior Chelsea Chan is a biology major carrying a 3.73 GPA and earned her second Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honor. Chan competed in both the 100 and 200-yard breast events and swam the 200-yard IM. She took a season-best third place in the 200 breaststroke against Washington State with a time of 2:26.50.
Â
Junior Tair Maimon is a computer science major carrying a 3.85 GPA and garnished her second Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honor. Maimon swam in all the backstroke events, while also competing in the sprint freestyle.
Â

Midrez races in many different distances in the freestyle category, from the 100-yard to the 1,000-yard. Her top finish of the season was a second place mark in the 500-yard free against Washington State with a touch of 5:22.85.
Â
