March 25, 2017 | Women's Basketball
STOCKTON, Calif.  – The Oregon State women's basketball team battle hard, but was unable to overcome a strong Florida State team Saturday evening in the Sweet 16, as the Beavers fell 66-53 in Stockton, Calif.
Â
"I love this team," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "I just absolutely love them. You know you're doing something right and you're part of something special when you never want it to end. This was a group that was just an absolute blast to go to work with every day. They gave everything they had, every day. Florida State played an awesome game. The hot team wins in March, and they were that today."
Â
The Beavers end the season 31-5, with the second-best win total in program history. The Oregon State senior class of Sydney Wiese, Gabriella Hanson, Kolbie Orum and Breanna Brown (redshirt-junior) finishes their careers with an impressive 114-26 mark.

Â
"I'm proud," Hanson said. "I'm very proud of what we've been able to accomplish over our four years. I don't think anyone expected us to do what we've done, and for that, I'm extremely grateful and proud."
Â
