Gymnastics Announces Summer Camp Registration
February 09, 2017 | Women's Gymnastics
UPDATED (3/21/2017) -- The 2017 Oregon State Gymnastics Summer Camp is FULL. Email Bea Whisenhunt at beatrice.whisenhunt@oregonstate.edu to be placed on the wait list.
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Registration is now open for the 2017 Oregon State Gymnastics Summer Camp which will be held July 11-15, 2017.
Â
Overnight and daytime only options are available.
Â
The camp is open to girls seven years old and up. Previous away from home experience is preferred for overnight campers.
Â
The focus of the camp is to instruct campers in the current techniques and proper progressions involved in gymnastics. The camp is designed to handle the camper with limited experience while at the same time offering a challenge to the competitive gymnast. Campers will be placed in groups according to age and ability. A small gymnast-to-coach ratio guarantees plenty of individual instruction by the staff.
Â
Classes consist of vault, bars, tumbling, beam, trampoline, video, dance and rhythmic gymnastics. In addition to daily workouts, campers will take part in evening activities such as swimming, bowling, movies, skits and talent night.
Â
The overnight camping option costs $590 and includes all activities plus room and meals beginning with dinner on Tuesday, July 11, and ending with breakfast on Saturday, July 15. A camp photo and t-shirt are also included.
Â
The day camper option costs $480 and includes all activities including evening events, a camp photo and t-shirt. Day campers are responsible for their own meals and lodging.Â
Â
Mail-in or email registration is available now by filling out and returning the attached documents (application, liability release and insurance form). For more information regarding the camps, contact Oregon State Director of Gymnastics Operations Bea Whisenhunt at (541) 737-1969 or beatrice.whisenhunt@oregonstate.edu.
