OSU closes regular season at Oklahoma
February 16, 2017 | Wrestling
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team concludes the regular season on Friday with a 5 p.m. dual against No. 21 Oklahoma at the McCasland Field House in Norman.
It will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Oklahoma, and by Fox College Sports Pacific.Â
The Beavers (6-7, 4-1 Pac-12) upset the Sooners (9-6) 22-12 during the 2015-16 season, when OSU won the final three matches to break a 12-12 standoff.
"It is good competition for us to end the regular season, and to prepare us for the upcoming Pac-12 championships," OSU coach Jim Zalesky said. "We want great effort and great intensity, which we've had recently, and we want to come out of it with no injuries."
The Sooners have four wrestlers ranked by InterMat: #13 Davion Jeffries (149); #11 Clark Glass (157); #14 Yoanse Mejias (165) and #18 Ross Larson (hwt.).
The Pac-12 Championships are Feb. 26 at Stanford. OSU is the five-time defending champion. The NCAA Championships are March 16-18 at St. Louis.
