Beavers Cruise To Fourth Straight Win

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Five Oregon State players scored in double figures and the Beavers used a strong second half to defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 85-58, on Saturday night at Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers (6-3) turned a slim three-point halftime lead into a blowout to notch their fourth-consecutive win.

Tres Tinkle and Drew Eubanks scored 19 points apiece, Ethan Thompson added 14, Alfred Hollins chipped in 13 off the bench and Stephen Thompson Jr. finished with 12 for a balanced Oregon State offensive attack.

The Golden Lions (0-10) fought back from an early 11-point deficit to tie it right before halftime. But Tinkle nailed a 3-pointer to give the Beavers a 37-34 lead at the break.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff cut it to 38-37 before the Beavers went on a 19-0 run to put the game away.

Thompson Jr. (8) and his brother, Ethan (6), both had career highs for assists.

Oregon State outscored the Golden Lions 25-5 on points off turnovers.

The Beavers have one more non-conference game at Gill Coliseum this season, which is slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday against Jacksonville State. The contest will be televised nationally on Pac-12 Network.
