
Braaten Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team

Junior caps third year at Oregon State with prestigious academic award
AUSTIN, Texas – Oregon State men's soccer junior midfielder Nathan Braaten (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was named to the 2017 Academic All-America second team in a release by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.
The Thunder Ridge High School product adds another distinguished award to his name after holding a 4.0 GPA in his third season in the Orange and Black while pursuing a degree in finance. Braaten now owns two First Team Pac-12 All-Academic and two CoSIDA Academic All-District awards in addition to his CoSIDA Academic All-American status.
Braaten joins an exclusive club at Oregon State as he is one of four members of the men's soccer program to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American teams. The last Beaver men's soccer member to make the cut was Josh Smith in 2013 who was also named to the second team.
On the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-American teams, Braaten is one of 15 student-athletes to hold a perfect 4.0 GPA.
