FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Building on their finishes from the first day of the 69th Husky Invitational, sophomore Felicia Anderson (Portland, Ore.) and junior Arianna Letrari (Bolzano, Italy) led the Oregon State swimming program with top finishes during the second day of the invite at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Letrari started the celebration with a blistering time of 53.75 in the 100 fly, over three seconds faster than her time at the Cal dual back on November 3. Letrari's finish was good enough for her second NCAA B Standard time in as many days at the invite.
Anderson followed up with the top spot in the 100 back near the end of the day with her second NCAA B Standard time of the invite at 54.48. Her finish was sixth-hundredths of a second off her time in the first leg of the 400 medley relay during the first day of the invite.
The Portland native also finished seventh in the 100 fly with a personal best time of 55.18 to supplement Letrari's finish in the 'A' final.
Sophomore Merritt Allen (Bend, Ore.) was the third Beaver swimmer to place in the 100 fly finals with a time of 56.94 for a finish in the 21st position. Allen also finished 30th in the 200 free 'D' final with a time of 1:54.54.
Freshman Callan Jackman (Dublin, Calif.) led OSU in the 200 free with a 16th-place finish on a time of 1:55.10 in the 'B' final, less than a quarter second off her personal best time.
Senior captain Noemie Midrez (Verviers, Liège, Belgium) added a time of 1:54.11 in the 200 free 'C' final for the 21st spot, while freshman Riley Neal (Hillsboro, Ore.) clocked in at 1:54.84 in the 200 free 'D' final for the 31st spot.
Oregon State's 200 medley relay team led off the day with a sixth-place finish behind a time of 1:45.81. The Beavers currently sit seventh among all colleges with a team score of 307 points.
