Oregon State Takes Fifth Overall at Head of the Lake
November 05, 2017 | Women's Rowing
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon State women's Varsity 8 took home a fifth-place finish in the Champ Women's 8 but didn't have a chance to get the Varsity 4s on the water as the 38th Head of the Lake Regatta was cut short due to poor weather conditions on Sunday morning.
OSU's V8+ got things started on the women's side, covering the nearly three-mile course in 18-minutes, 14.835-seconds securing a fifth place finish behind Washington 1V8 (17:13.861), Washington 2V8 (17:16.420), Washington State (17:39.401) and Gonzaga (17:53.288).
The Beavers were scheduled to run two boats in the Women's Collegiate Open 4 but the regatta was cancelled just before the event began.
Oregon State concludes the fall season on Sunday Nov. 18 at the Orange and Black Regatta.
