2018 Oregon State Softball Schedule Announced

Schedule features visit from defending national champion Oklahoma

CORVALLIS, Ore. – With the 2018 season on the horizon, the Oregon State University softball program announced its schedule for the upcoming campaign as the Beavers eye a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Highlights of the 2018 season include the defending 2017 NCAA National Champions paying a visit to Corvallis as Oklahoma makes the trip northwest for a two-game series against Oregon State on April 20. The Beavers will also face 2017 Women's College World Series participant LSU for a two-game set in the 2018 Purple and Gold Challenge in Baton Rouge, La., starting on February 16.
Additionally, the 2018 Civil War will take place at the OSU Softball Complex starting on March 29 when Oregon makes the trip north for a three-game set. Oregon State will host its annual Alumni Weekend in conjunction with the rivalry series.
OSU will start the season at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz., on February 9, for the eighth trip to the desert in nine years. The Beavers will face four 2017 NCAA Regional opponents at the tournament in Oklahoma State, BYU, Georgia and Missouri.
Following the Purple and Gold Challenge, Oregon State will compete in the 2018 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., starting on February 22. The Beavers will face off against 2017 NCAA Super Regional opponents Tennessee and Auburn, and will also compete against the USSSA Pride in an exhibition match at the tournament.
The Orange and Black close their tournament schedule back in the Golden State with a five-game set at the San Diego Classic starting on March 2, followed by a five-game swing at the CSUN Tournament in Northridge, Calif., starting on March 9.
The conference schedule begins the following week as Cal visits the OSU Softball Complex for a three-game series on March 16, while the first conference road trip for the Beavers will be at UCLA on March 23.
Oregon State will play Portland State in a home-and-home series starting on April 10 with a game at the Gordon Faber Rec Complex in Portland, Ore., before the Vikings head south to Corvallis the following week on April 17. The series against Oklahoma later in the week will officially close the non-conference portion of the regular season for the Beavers.
