Oregon State returns to action Sunday vs. Notre Dame
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 17/18 Oregon State women's basketball team shot a blistering 68.5 percent from the floor, as the Beavers rolled to a 98-41 win over Utah Valley Wednesday evening at Gill Coliseum.
Â
OSU matched the team's all-time mark with 17 made 3-pointers.
Â
"This was a great night in Gill Coliseum," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "We had another really nice crowd tonight. I'm really proud of the team for making progress forward. We grew in the areas we wanted to grow. Utah Valley is a difficult team to defend, and I think our defense handled them well. Our staff prepared the team well, and they executed the game plan. The ball really moved today. This team has a lot of ability and that was on display tonight."
Â
Senior Marie Gulich went a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor in the contest, finishing with 19 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Sophomore Mikayla Pivec went 5-for-6 from the floor, and a perfect 4-for-4 from long range to end the night with 18 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals. As a team, Oregon State shot 60.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Â
Kat Tudor hit five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points. Freshman Aleah Goodman made her Beaver debut, going 4-for-4 from long range to finish with 12 points. Sophomore Maddie Washington also chipped in with eight rebounds and eight assists.
Â

Â
As a team, OSU out-rebounded Utah Valley 43-19. All 10 Oregon State players scored in the contest.
Â
The Beavers exploded out of the gates, scoring the first 11 points of the game to take an early lead. The Wolverines would battle back from there, cutting the deficit to three at the end of the first quarter. Tudor led Oregon State with eight points in the opening frame.
Â
OSU wasted little time returning the advantage to double-figures in the second period, starting off the quarter with 12 unanswered points. The Beavers would continue to roll from there, taking a 48-24 lead into the intermission.
Â
Oregon State shot 71 percent from the floor in the first half, spear-headed by Gulich, who went 5-for-5. The Beavers also shot a blistering 64 percent from 3-point range.
