Oregon State Heads South for First Road Meet of 2017
October 04, 2017 | Women's Swimming
OSU will face USC and CSU Bakersfield at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University swimming program will head to Los Angeles later this week to compete in the first road meet of the 2017-18 campaign.
OSU will take on Southern California and CSU Bakersfield on Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m. PT at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center in a tri meet.
The Beaver swimmers have already competed once so far this year, taking on Willamette and SW Oregon CC back in September to open up the second year under the guidance of head coach Jennifer Buffin.
Oregon State defeated both WU and SWOCC in the meet, with the Beavers placing multiple student-athletes in the top-10 of every event at Osborn Aquatic Center. OSU swept the top three spots on the podium in each of the sprint events.
Last week, the Beavers hosted their annual Orange and Black meet at Osborn; an intrasquad meet that was won by Team Orange on the last event of the evening in the 400 free relay. The dual featured both team exchanging their swimmers on the top spot before Team Orange took the event in the final relay.
OSU will head out on the road this Friday for the long trip to the City of Angels.
