Oregon State Heading South for Bay Area Duals
October 31, 2017 | Women's Swimming
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University swimming program will resume the 2017-18 schedule this week for a pair of Pac-12 duals in the Bay Area against Stanford and Cal.
The Beavers will first face the Cardinal on Thursday, November 2, with the first event scheduled for 2:45 p.m. PT. The meet will be broadcast on the Stanford live stream at the Avery Aquatic Center on the campus of Stanford University.
OSU will then face the Bears on Friday, November 3, with first event set for 2 p.m. PT at the Legends Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley.
Oregon State last took to the water against Southern California and CSU Bakersfield back on October 6. The Beavers fell to both the Trojans and the Roadrunners in the tri meet.
Since then, OSU hosted its annual Alumni Meet on October 14, before junior Arianna Letrari (Bolzano, Italy) represented the Orange and Black at the Pac-12 vs. USA Swimming College Challenge on October 21-22. Letrari posted a personal best in the 200 fly with a time of 1:59.16 for the fifth-fastest time in the water in Oregon State history.
Letrari also had a good performance on the Friday relays in the challenge, including a season best 54.57 in her leg for the 400 medley relay and a 1:50.09 during her leg in the 800 free relay. The Pac-12 bested USA Swimming in the challenge, 326.5 to 286.5.
Last year, the Beavers dropped both duals to Cal and Stanford to start the Pac-12 portion of the schedule, both at the Osborn Aquatic Center. Sophomore Felicia Anderson (Portland, Ore.), then a freshman, finished with a third-place finish in the 100 back at 56.98 against Cal, and shaved off another portion of her time in the same event against Stanford at 56.21 with an additional third-place finish.
