
Eight TV Meets Highlight 2018 Gymnastics Schedule

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eight televised meets including four out of five home events highlight the 2018 Oregon State gymnastics schedule, head coach Tanya Chaplin and the Pac-12 Network announced Tuesday.

OSU crosses the country for its longest trip of the year to open the season at Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 13, then goes back on the road for the conference-opener at Utah the following Friday, Jan. 19.

Oregon State then opens its five-meet home schedule Saturday, Jan. 27 when the Stanford Cardinal travel to Corvallis. The Beavers remain at home a week later to host Arizona State Saturday, Feb. 3 for the 13th annual DAM Cancer meet. OSU also hosts Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Beavers host BYU at Gill Coliseum Monday, March 5 in OSU's only home non-Saturday meet of the season and conclude the home schedule for Senior Day/Alumni Day Saturday, March 10 when Michigan State makes the trek to Corvallis.

OSU will also make two television appearances on the road in 2018 during trips to Utah (Jan. 19) and UCLA (Feb. 25)

The regular season closes with at the Pac-12 Championships, which is slated for March 24 at Arizona's McKale Center in Tucson. Both sessions will be televised on Pac-12 Network.

The winningest coach in OSU gymnastics history is back for her 21st season in Corvallis. Chaplin's Beavers, who lost 15-out-of-24 competition routines from the 2017 NCAA Championships lineup due to graduation, will look to All-American Dani Dessaints among others to lead the Beavers back to nationals in St. Louis, Mo.

The Beavers will be led by seniors Shireen Khamedoost and Dessaints, who earned Regular Season All-America honors on vault, as well as junior Mary Jacobsen, a Pac-12 All-Conference selection on vault.

OSU also returns another pair of juniors, Mariana Colussi-Pelaez and McKenna Singley, who have been fixtures in the lineup in the past. In addition, eight sophomores return to the fold as well including, Halli Briscoe, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Lena Greene, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Alyssa Minyard

New to the program for the 2018 season are five freshmen – Savanna Force, Lexie Gonzales, Niya Mack, Kaitlyn Yanish and Colette Yamaoka – and junior transfer Lacy Dagen, who was a gymnast at the University of Florida that past two seasons.
